P. Gregory Cross, Attorney-At-Law
Continuing a family tradition of providing legal services
to Eastern Indiana communities for over fifty years, Perry Gregory Cross
is engaged in the practice of law as a member of The Cross Law Firm, P.C.
with offices in the beautiful historic Riley Jones Building, 315 East
Charles Street, Muncie, Indiana.
Greg was admitted to practice in the state of Indiana in 1977 after having graduated with honors from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor. Prior to that he attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, from which he received in 1974 a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, with highest distinction. While in school, Greg was elected to memberships in Tau Beta Phi, National Engineering Honor Society, and Phi Kappa Phi National Collegiate Honor Society. He was also named to Phi Beta Kappa, elected in 1974 as one of the very first members of that honor society from the School of Engineering at Purdue University.
Greg has been admitted to practice and is a member in good standing of the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the District of Nebraska. He is also a patent attorney, having been licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 1977.
For the past several years, Greg has concentrated his practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and complex civil litigation, with particular emphasis in automobile/trucking accidents and products liability cases. During the course of his career, he has tried numerous cases of a substantial nature to judgment in both federal and state courts and has also prosecuted, defended or otherwise participated in several appeals, a great many of which have been reported. He is board certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and was named Indiana Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1992 by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.
Currently, Greg is one of two Indiana lawyers holding a seat on the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has been a sustaining member of that organization for nearly 25 years and has previously served in other positions with ATLA, including a term as the state delegate from Indiana and another as a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee. Greg has also been a very active member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, of which he is presently an emeritus member of its board of directors. He has held every office of that organization, including secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president, serving in that capacity from 1997 to 1998. He has also been a member of almost every committee of ITLA at one time or another, in particular the Amicus Curiae Committee, upon which he has participated since 1982. He served as chairman of that committee from 1984 to 1997, having written and/or supervised the production of a large number of amicus curiae briefs which were filed in Indiana’s appellate courts during that time.
Greg holds an “AV”, or preeminent, rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is listed in the current as well as previous editions of the Best Lawyers in America.
